0.6 - SO MUCH CONTENT


This is the biggest update I have ever made, and somehow, I did it in only one week, compared to the usual 14-20 days. I had so much fun making this update, and I hope you have fun playing it. :)

Additions

Block Shaping

  • Added new radial menu for selecting block shape
    • When holding a hammer, hold 'R' to bring up a wheel, mouse over the shape you want, then release R
    • The menu is no longer restricted to hammers, while holding any shaped block you can bring up the menu
    • Now the hammer will use that shape
    • Added stairs
    • Added panes
    • Added flooring (like carpet, 1px tall flat panel)
    • Block shapes are still rendered a bit weirdly, but will be fixed soon
    • Added sound for hammering blocks

Trinkets

  • Added trinket system, there are 5 trinket slots in the inventory
  • Added rocket boots trinket
    • Can propel the player vertically
    • Has one second worth of "fuel", and recharges when the player jumps from solid ground
  • Added spring boots trinket
    • Allow the player to jump 2 blocks instead of 1 when equipped
  • Added healing charm trinket
    • Heals the player every 4 seconds
  • Added paraglider trinket
    • Works similarly to rocket boots, activated by holding space mid jump
    • Activated automatically when rocket boots run out of fuel
  • Added jumping bean trinket
    • You constantly bounce when this item is equiped
    • You move 20% faster, jump higher
    • And deal 20% more melee damage
  • Added sneakers trinket
    • Hold shift to sneak while wearing
    • 0.5x movement speed
    • Move very slowly when on the edge of a block (but can still fall off!)
  • Added Gecko Gloves trinket
    • Lets you climb up walls (might turn into wall jumping in a future update)
  • Added Speed Boots trinket
    • Lets you sprint by holding CTRL, gives a 1.5x speed boost
    • In the future, this will probably be accompanied by a stamina system so you cant infinitely sprint
  • Added Cure Cube trinket
    • Provides immunity to poison

Building

  • Added decoration table, used to craft decorative items like cloth
  • Blocks can now apply buffs/debuffs to the player
  • Added concrete and asphalt, they both apply a 25% speed boost to the player when walked on
  • Added 16 colours of cloth blocks
  • Added framed glass for a more ornate look
  • Added a thick variant of logs that take up a full block
  • Added planks for each wood variant
  • Added trampoline block, can jump 6 blocks high when standing on it
  • Added launch pad block, like trampoline but always active
  • Added cyan, magenta and yellow lamps
  • Added red bricks

Potions

  • Added potion station, used to craft potions
    • Added weak healing potion, heals 10 HP
    • Added regular healing potion, heals 20 HP
    • Added poison potion, poisons you for 4 seconds (why not?)
    • Added speed potion, 1.5x move speed for 5 minutes
    • Added regen potion, 1 HP every 4 seconds for 5 minutes
    • Added armour potion, +4 Defence for 5 minutes
    • Added potion of returning, returns you to the spawn point (in the future you will be able to set your spawn)
    • Added potion of flight, gives you the ability to do a 40-tick rocket boost for 1 minute, stacks with rocket boots

User Interface

  • Can now drop items from the inventory screen
    • Left click drops full stack
    • Right click drops 1 item
  • Added a fullscreen button to the crafting menu that allows it to take up the maximum amount of space possible
  • Added a recipe lookup menu, useful for learning new recipes
    • Hover over an item and press 'U' or 'R'
    • This will show you every recipe that item is used in
    • And every recipe that results in that item
  • Can CTRL + click items to delete them from your inventory (no trash slot yet)
  • Can now SHIFT + Click to transfer items between chest/inventory

Misc

  • Player can now step up any gap that is 0.51m or less
  • Implemented Regen buff
  • Implemented Speed buff
  • Implemented Fire debuff
  • Added cotton
    • Place cotton on the ground to plant it
    • When the cotton has grown, right click to harvest
  • Added the same functionality to blueberry bushes
  • New sounds for blocks:
    • All blocks now have a placing sound
    • Unique sounds for glass
    • Unique sounds for wood

Changes

  • Picked up items now prioritse existing stacks (previously it picked the first empty slot)
  • The game now loads in two threads, and has a simple loading screen
  • The sky is now slightly more blue
  • Changed date format for screenshots to year, month, day, hour, minute second .png
  • Sand is now less saturated
  • Enemies now catch on fire during the day rather than just taking damage
  • Lamps can now be shaped
  • You can now swim in lava, and lava sets you on fire
  • Updated crafting system to support item aliases, for example "any type of planks" rather than specifically oak planks
  • Nerfed wooden bow a bit (5 damage to 4). Will get reduced further when I add more bow tiers
  • Made ore blob sizes a little smaller
  • Removed random name button from character creation screen
  • Turned down the dungeon spawn rate a lot, from every 600 ticks to every 2400 ticks
  • Mouse sensitivity is now on a scale of 1-40 (from 1-20)
  • Removed light sponge and shape test blocks

Fixes

  • Fences no longer connect to blocks that can be walked through
  • Another attempted fix at the database loading issue. Hopefully the final "fix"
  • Fixed a bug introduced in the last version that broke wands and broke consumables
  • Items no longer spill out of the crafting menu, and you can scroll
  • Fixed issue where entities would skip a tick when crossing between chunk borders, causing issues with FOV and stuttering
  • Fixed silver armour having same defence as iron
  • Fixed padding on character creation menu
  • Fixed tooltips getting stuck on screen
